The Giro d’Italia comes to Trentino

Days of celebration to cheer on the great champions of cycling

This year, the Giro d’Italia, scheduled from May 8 to May 31, 2026, will pass through Trentino, with the finish of Stage 18 in Andalo and the start of Stage 19 the following day from Fai della Paganella.

Stage 18, covering 200 km, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27, and will enter Trentino at Ca’ Rossa, then climb up the Chiese Valley, passing through Tione, San Lorenzo–Dorsino, Molveno, a first pass through Andalo, Cavedago, and then Andalo again.

The following day, Thursday, May 28, the pink caravan will resume its journey from Fai della Paganella and, after 166 km, reach Pieve di Soligo (TV), crossing the villages of the Piana Rotaliana, then Trento, before riding through the Valsugana. A spectacular show is therefore guaranteed!

A thrill to be experienced

Seeing a live road cycling race is truly an experience to be had. When the race passes by, everything happens quickly: the relay motorcycles zoom past, then the breakaway cyclists and the race captains. Next, there are the chasers trying to catch up. Finally there is the peloton, with the sprinters bringing up the rear, further behind and in high spirits. Every rider gets a special cheer and applause.

As well as the Giro, the Tour of the Alps, one of the most important and prestigious stage races on the professional circuit, also passes through the region.
