Spring walks: Madonna di Campiglio and the Brenta Dolomites

Take a moment for yourself and explore the Brenta Dolomites at a slower pace.

Spring marks an important transition in the year, inviting you to embrace the sensations of the new season: vitality, renewal, and regeneration.

The vast region stretching from the Brenta Dolomites to the Giudicarie Valleys and Valle del Chiese offers trails and hidden spots that remain blissfully quiet in this season—perfect places to reconnect with nature and rediscover the true meaning of walking in the mountains. It’s not just about pure sport, but about a mindful, respectful approach to the landscape—its natural beauty, its human presence, and its deep-rooted history.

We have selected two long-distance routes, structured over multiple stages, along with some wellness experiences in nature. You can mix and match them to create your perfect springtime adventure.

La Via delle Valli

Discover Madonna di Campiglio, Val Rendena, the Giudicarie area, and Valle del Chiese on a journey through 50 unique valleys. From classic itineraries to off-the-beaten-path trails, explore the land and reconnect with yourself—"to discover and to discover yourself".

Choose the perfect itinerary for you, blending nature, art, and local flavors. We recommend exploring these mountain paths from June onwards. Validate every stop on your "Credential" at the stamping points and let yourself be guided by the many souls of this region. Adventure awaits!

The San Vili Trail

The San Vili Trail takes you from Trento to Madonna di Campiglio, winding through the Giudicarie Valleys. "San Vili" refers to Saint Vigilius, who travelled these mountain valleys in the 5th century AD, spreading Christianity.
Covering 100 km over six stages, this route leads you through some of Trentino’s most fascinating sites: Iron, the ghost village; Pinzolo, with its stunning frescoes in the Church of San Vigilio; Caderzone, home to the Val Rendena thermal baths, and many more hidden gems.
You can walk the trail with expert guides, and along the way, you'll find hotels, B&Bs, and farm stays (Agritur) offering a warm welcome to hikers—along with exclusive rates for those on the journey.

The Charlemagne Trail

The Charlemagne Trail follows in the footsteps of the legendary emperor, starting in Bergamo and crossing Val Camonica, Val di Sole, and Val Rendena. The Trentino section spans 67 km, leading to its final destination in Carisolo.

As you walk through alpine landscapes, lush forests, meadows, and charming villages, you’ll retrace the fabled expedition of Charlemagne, as told in the ancient "Privilege of the Church of Santo Stefano" in Carisolo. This historic wall inscription recounts the emperor’s passage through these lands and his role in converting many local people to Christianity.

The trail is deeply tied to the region’s spiritual and historical heritage. It also offers a glimpse into an intriguing past: it is believed that Charlemagne’s Franks sourced quartz from Val Rendena, an essential mineral for glass production, further linking this journey to the history of these remote mountain valleys.

Dolomiti Natural Wellness

At the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, "Dolomiti Natural Wellness" offers eight immersive nature trails, along with a rich programme of experiences starting in early June. These activities are designed to help you connect with the pristine landscapes of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. You will have the chance to enjoy slow activities such as yoga, barefoot walking, forest bathing, and breathing exercises— all guided by expert wellness trainers.

Free Outdoor Weeks

From June 20 to July  5 and then again from Augurst 31 to September 20, the Dolomeet PASSion Card offers you included lifts and many activities such as guided e-bike tours, canyoning, via ferrata, and aperitifs.
You can discover the great beauty of the Dolomites with Tramonti in quota appointments: with the extraordinary openings of the lifts you can experience the magic of the golden hour at high altitude in the Brenta Dolomites.

Long-distance trails require time, dedication, and a constant presence: with a workation, your desk overlooks the Dolomites and the trail is already beneath your feet. Staying locally allows you to experience the itinerary stage by stage, without rushing, balancing professional productivity with inner discovery. Discover the co-working spaces in and around Madonna di Campiglio: remote work has never been this regenerating!
