The first document to mention the Castle of the rock goes back to 1303. Its special location leads us to presume that a castle with the function of lock existed already in the 12th century and that in any case the place must have been fortified since ancient times.
The castle belongs to the same family from 1738 and, following restoration works, it can now be visited both in guided and free visits, which must however be booked. The castle also has a farm in the surrounding countryside, which produces delicious local products.
The castle has rooms available for banquets, weddings, conferences, seminars. Educational activities and special events such a “dinner with murder” are also organised.
