Jacopeo d'Anaunia Path – IV stage
With the fourth stage you return to Val di Non through Cavizzana and up to the locality of S. Antonio di Cles. This is a demanding stage but one of great charm for the views over the two valleys and Lake Santa Giustina.
This stage is very demanding because of the difference in altitude to be overcome in the stretch from Cavizzana to the locality of S.Antonio. It is recommended to be very careful in case of bad weather. It should also be noted that the long mountain section Cavizzana-Cles is devoid of any possibility of supply. Finally, in case of renunciation, it is possible to reach Cles by public transport from Terzolas or Caldes.

In the stage you will see Castel Caldes, Sas dala Guardia (ancient guard post of 1632 to avert the danger of the plague) in Cavizzana, and a beautiful chapel dedicated to St. Anthony immersed in the forest of Cles.

The Path is well signposted, with the presence of the symbol of the stylised shell in yellow and various tables indicating the way. You can follow ancient paths connecting small towns and ancient roads that led to the sanctuaries, destination of pilgrimages. There are short stretches of roads with little traffic.
Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

The fourth stage begins at Torraccia di Terzolas and continues towards Caldes where the castle is definitely worth a stop. We continue to "Le Contre" crossing the Noce stream, then along a forest road we arrive at "Sas dala Guardia" (which recalls an ancient guard post, dating back to 1632, to avert the danger of the plague). Shortly afterwards, cross Cavizzana and climb the steep "Strada dele Crozze" (Crozze's Road); go past an altitude of 1200 m. and through the "Senter Portantin", used in ancient times to bring coal down to the valley, and then a forest road reaches the little chapel in the locality of S. Antonio di Cles. The "Senter dei Gropi" leads us to Caltron and Dres where there is a church with valuable frescoes; a few minutes separate us from Cles at the end of the stage.
This stage is quite demanding due to the differences in altitude that have been overcome, and can be shortened if necessary, starting from Cavizzana on.

A local train connects Trento to the village of Terzolas and takes about one hour and twenty minutes.

From the A22 Brenner motorway, take the Trento North exit and continue in the direction of Val di Non and Val di Sole on the SS43. After the village of Caldes leave the state road and follow the signs on the right to reach the village of Terzolas.Parking

Equipment
Anyone who sets out and wants to get to their destination without problems must wear a good pair of comfortable shoes, preferably with a sculpted sole (like Vibram) and ankle protection (like hiking pedules), but in which the foot is firmly fixed to prevent the formation of blisters or, worse still, risk a sprain. It is also good to have a stick (or better still, telescopic sticks) to help you along the way, especially in some more challenging passages.Localization
