Ten years ago, humanity took an extraordinary step: for the first time we managed to listen to the Universe.
This happened when two black holes, in a remote corner of space, merged with each other. We saw nothing, but we perceived a signal: a gravitational wave, a tiny vibration of space itself.
In this first special evening dedicated to the Universe, we will discover what gravitational waves are, how they are detected, and why their revelation has forever revolutionized Astronomy. A fascinating journey through cosmic mysteries and epoch-making discoveries, to learn to listen to what we could once only imagine.
At the end of the evening, if the sky is clear, we will observe the Moon together with telescopes, to conclude our journey with one of the brightest and most beloved protagonists of the night sky.
