Pieve di Bono

The age-old religious traditions have left many traces in Valle del Chiese. Indeed, Pieve di Bono is one of the Seven ancient Parishes that made up the area of the Giudicarie. The municipality features five residential areas: Agrone, Cologna, Creto, Por and Strada.
The church of Santa Giustina, built prior to the 13th Century, is worth visiting, as well as the parish chapel featuring an important 15th century cycle of Gothic frescoes in Giotto's style painted by Giovanni Badile, and the curacy churches too. Highlights also include, Castel Romano (1253) - and its park - which used to be the residence of Arco's and Lodrone's lords; the ancient rural building which houses the Magnificent General Communities in Frugone (Agrone); Forte Carriola and its Austrian fortifications.

Truly a must are the stunning tours through Val di Daone and Val di Fumo, with the climb up along the Chiese river all the way to the heart of the Adamello Glacier. The environment is typically Alpine and offers the opportunity to spot and meet local fauna.

Both summer and winter seasons are spiced up by numerous events (Val di Daone hosts international ice-climbing competitions).
