Where the porphyry of Lagorai turns into granite (in the Cima d’Asta group), here is the Caldenave Hut, renovated by the Municipality of Scurelle on the remains of an old dairy next to Malga Caldenave. The Hut - at an altitude of 1,795 meters - is one of the stops on the "granite route," which includes a three-day passage also to Malga Sorgazza and the Cima d’Asta Hut. But although named after the rock, this route, which skirts numerous small lakes, is also dedicated to those who love the element of water. We are in an area where the Great War was fought, and where now untouched nature reigns, in the wild environment typical of the Lagorai chain.

Itineraries
From the Hut, it's easy to reach the lakes of Val Inferno and Nassere (now 1 hour of walking, difficulty E). Through Forcella Orsera, you can reach Cima Orsera (2 hours of walking, difficulty EE). The Hut is also a stop on the High Route of Granite, a long ring itinerary that in three days connects Malga Sorgazza, the Caldenave Hut, and the Cima d’Asta Hut using trails and military roads.

From the village of Strigno take the road to Spera, go past the Crucolo restaurant and up the Val Campelle for about 4 km to Tedon; from there continue on foot on path 332 for 1 ½ hours (difficulty E) .
