RIFUGIO ALPINO LAGHI DI COLBRICON
Information
In shape and size, this small Refuge resembles a fairy tale house. Add in two high-altitude ponds, and you'll understand why so many hikers make their way up from Passo Rolle or San Martino di Castrozza (with a bit more effort) for a break at the Laghetti di Colbricon Refuge. Did you know that from these ponds there is a beautiful view of the south face of the Marmolada, which generally loves to deny itself, surrounded by other peaks? On the opposite side, pay attention to how the rock turns red: you are in the wild charm of the place where the Dolomites end and the Lagorai begins.
Opening
From June 20 to September 20
The refuge is open only for food service; it is not possible to stay overnight in the structure.
Before the hike, it is advisable to check the actual opening of the refuge by contacting the manager.
Trails
The Laghetti di Colbricon Refuge is the eastern starting point for the Lagorai traverse. From here, it is possible to climb to Colbricon (2 hours, for experienced hikers) and Cavallazza (1 hour, easy).
