Information
The refuge is located on the Passo Cereda road, which runs through flowery meadows between Trentino and the Province of Belluno, and for more than sixty years has been welcoming travellers and walkers following the Alta Via number 2 from Bressanone to Feltre. Even if you’ve come up here simply to try their typical Trentino dishes, the (easy) walk along the road to Malga Fossetta is a must(when you get there you'll see why), where you’ll have a wonderful view of the Piz de Sagron rising out of lush green meadows. Open The refuge is open throughout the year; in the low season it’s advisable to call us for confirmation. Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks From Passo Cereda go down the main road towards Primiero until you meet the path for Villa Welsperg in Val Canali, headquarters of the Paneveggio and Pale di San Martino Nature Park(1 ½ hours, difficulty E). The walk to Rifugio Treviso in Val Canali, on the other hand, is very long (5 hours, difficulty EE). Equally interesting is the path to the village of Sagron passing through ancient pine forests and over the screes beneath the Piz Sagron massif.
