A museum spread across two sites in Riva di Vallarsa, to help you learn about our peasant ancestors’ past through everyday items.
Vallarsa is a small, rugged, pretty valley east of Rovereto. It was here that the idea to gather evidence for Trentino’s ancient peasant civilisation began. The museum is split across two nearby sites in Riva di Vallarsa. One is home to a reconstruction of a 19th-century farmhouse, complete with a cradle, rocking chair, and fireplace, as well as school desks with notebooks, inkwells, and a globe. The other focuses on farm work, with a complete collection of historic tools that testify to our ancestors’ hard labour. Understanding how our ancestors lived and worked is not only good for the soul, it helps us understand the present.
