Weapons, objects for daily use, uniforms but above all skis, ice crampons, snowshoes: a small museum that recounts the harshness of the Great War at high altitude.

This museum was born from the precious work of Emilio Serra, who for about fortyyears tirelessly searched the mountains of the Valle di Sole, the site of bitter fighting from June 1915 to October 1918. Weapons, objects for daily use, uniforms, utensils of the soldiers' personal equipment, memorabilia but above all skis, ice crampons, snowshoes and straw overshoes for the sentries, which testify to the harshness of daily life at high altitudes. On request, the Museum organises guided tours of Forte Strino and the other forts in the area (Forte Zaccarana, Forte Mero, Forte Pozzi Alti or Presanella).

ACCESSIBILITY

At the Museo della Guerra Bianca in Vermiglio you can experience being projected into the life of a soldier at the front. Thanks to words, sounds and lights installed through the Surround technique, that is, with sounds coming from different directions and points of the room, you will be completely immersed in the story of a soldier who writes a letter to his mother during the First World War. The museum is fully accessible by wheelchair as there are no internal obstacles. Near the museum, there is a parking space reserved for people with disabilities. The museum room where the sound system was installed is also accessible to people with visual impairments.
