Author’s recommendation
At 'Doss en Ciaura', the dedicated fire sites, the wooden hut equipped with kitchen and toilets (which can be used upon request to the Asuc association in Smarano) the nearby children's playground and the large sports field make the area ideal for those who wish to spend a whole day in nature.

Roadbook
The walk begins in the Merlonga locality, above the Restaurant Pizzeria 'I Tre Briganti' and follows an almost level path immersed in the woods, where recurring signposts bearing the number 12 referring to the '16 Percorsi d'Anaunia' (16 Anaunia Routes) mark the way.
You will find a panoramic terrace overlooking the Two Lakes of Coredo and Tavon and the majestic Brenta Group. A little further on another panoramic terrace allows views of the suggestive Sanctuary of San Romedio set in the eponymous valley, among the Maddalene mountain ridge, Mount Ozol and part of the higher Val di Non.
Further on, the path climbs slightly to then return to level ground and cross a pine and fir forest where you will come across the sign '4 Passi en tel bosc’ (the local dialect for “A stroll in the woods”), a short diversion which follows a slightly wider stretch to then reconnect with the main panoramic route. Continuing along route no. 12, you come to a clearing, which features a little shrine and a hut with a canopy. You pass through the Busa del Lièver, where you will find a small but pleasant playground, and finally to the Dos en Ciaura locality, where an old football pitch and a lovely picnic area with tables, benches, fire sites and a small house with a kitchen can be used upon request to the Asuc association di Smarano.
Just below the village of Smarano, near the fire station, follow the right-hand indication to return to the starting point.
