Audi FIS Ski World Cup Val di Fassa Opening Parade

From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 March, the Women's Alpine Ski World Cup will be stopping off in Val di Fassa. Three days of fast-paced races on the La VolatA slope at Passo San Pellegrino will transform the valley into a major international stage: an achievement built on over thirty years of commitment, professionalism and passion. Today, Val di Fassa hosts three events in the world's top circuit thanks to a highly qualified technical staff and hundreds of volunteers who provide the Organising Committee with experience, dedication and skills gained in major sporting events and as a federal training centre. A sporting success that is, first and foremost, a team success.

On Saturday 7 March, Moena will pay tribute to the protagonists with a grand parade in the historic centre: a moment of celebration that brings together sport and community. Along a circular route starting from "Piaz de Ramon" and ending in "Piaz de Sotegrava", where the participating groups will be presented, the instructors from the five ski schools of Moena, Vigo, Pozza, Campitello and Canazei - ready to light up the streets with torches - the Moena Music Band, municipal and local authorities, representatives of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, the "Scufons del Cogo", the US Monti Pallidi, FassActive and Ski Team Fassa ski clubs. It will be a special opportunity for fans and young athletes from the ski clubs to experience the excitement of the World Cup up close, meet the champions, look them in the eye and be inspired. For many, the dream begins just like this: at the edge of the piste, between a lit torch and applause resounding in the square.

This will be followed by the downhill awards ceremony and the draw for the super-G on Sunday.

And for those who want to prolong the party, the appointment is at the Bait del Pencio, in the Perle Alpine square, with street food offering authentic mountain flavours. You'll also find volunteers from ONLUS Bambi with candy floss and popcorn, collecting donations to support children with rare or chronic illnesses and their families.
