WHAT’S NEW IN TRENTINO THIS WINTER

The two large ski areas, Dolomiti Superski and Skirama Dolomiti–Adamello Brenta, are at the heart of one of the most advanced and complete ski offerings in the Alpine region. The question is, what’s new for Trentino this ski season?

In the Trentino ski areas, skiers have access to one of the most modern facilities in the Alps, with safety standards among the highest in Europe.

The season is guaranteed from December to April due to the programmed snow networks covering over 90% of the slopes. The aim is to save water resources, so accumulation basins are created, energy consumption is reduced, and CO2 emissions are reduced thanks to the introduction of the latest-generation generators.

Dolomiti Superski is the largest ski carousel in the world. Located in the Eastern Alps, it extends between Trentino, South Tyrol and the province of Belluno and includes twelve ski areas. Thanks to a single ski pass, which can also be purchased online, Dolomiti Superski offers 1,200 kilometres of slopes, 350 of which are in Trentino (Val di Fassa, Moena-Tre Valli, Val di Fiemme and San Martino di Castrozza-Passo Rolle) where, thanks to programmed snow, skiing is guaranteed from December to April.

DOLOMITI SUPERSKI - WHAT’S NEW FOR WINTER 2024-2025

 VAL DI FASSA – CAREZZA.

The construction site for the Col Rodella cable car reconstruction opens in Campitello di Fassa. The cable car will enter service in December 2025.

SAN MARTINO DI CASTROZZA - PASSO ROLLE

In the Ces area, the new Valcigolera cableway with 10-seater gondolas comes into service, replacing the previous 2-seater chairlift.

ALPE LUSIA – PASSO SAN PELLEGRINO

In the San Pellegrino – Costabella area, the Monzoni slope and Monzoni Snowpark will be renovated, and the Fuchiade slope will be widened.

The Skirama Dolomiti-Adamello Brenta, with almost 400 kilometres of slopes and 150 ski lifts, is one of the most important ski areas south of the Alps. It brings together the most beautiful winter resorts in western Trentino. Accessible through a single ski pass, also available online, it opens up the horizon of a tour in the scenery of the Adamello-Presanella, Ortles-Cevedale, and Brenta Dolomites massifs.

It includes the ski resorts of Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo in Val Rendena, Folgarida-Marilleva, Peio, Passo del Tonale in Val di Sole, Andalo-Fai della Paganella, Monte Bondone and Folgaria-Lavarone-Luserna. The high altitude of the slopes, which reach 2,500 metres above sea level in Madonna di Campiglio and 3,000 metres in Peio and Passo del Tonale, guarantees the possibility of skiing from November until late spring.

SKIRAMA DOLOMITI - WHAT’S NEW FOR WINTER 2024-2025

PINZOLO

On Doss del Sabion, the new Prà Rodont – Doss del Sabion cableway is being completed, with the construction of the lifts for the “connection” between the system that goes up from Pinzolo and the new cableway of the system at both the upper and lower stations. At the top of Doss Sabion, a panoramic viewpoint with an educational point will be created in collaboration with the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park. In the renovated Doss del Sabion refuge, a new lounge bar will be created, in addition to the already highly appreciated Attic restaurant and the gourmet proposal at altitude.

MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO

For the second consecutive year, the Madonna di Campiglio ski area has been nominated among the 10 top ski destinations in the world and as the best in Italy. The Spinale Direttissima slope has also been recognised as the best black slope in the world (Source: skiresort.info).

Among the new features of the upcoming next season is the widening of the Pradalago Facile slope. The parking lot in the Grostè area will also become larger, offering guests of the Campiglio Dolomiti di Brenta SkiArea greater convenience and ease of access to the ski slopes.

There is a new date for the men's slalom of the 3-Tre World Cup. It is scheduled for January 8, 2025, at night on the Canalone Miramonti.

FOLGARIDA MARILLEVA

From next winter, skiers can count on the new six-seater chairlift Malga Panciana – Ometto, which will replace the old two-seater fixed-attachment chairlift Val Panciana – Ometto.

The new facility will be able to transport 1,600 more people per hour than the current capacity and will have heated seats. Some of the skiable trails have also been expanded: the widening and arrangement of the Ometto 1 and Ometto 2 slopes (upstream area), the Orso Bruno slope (downstream area), the Sghirlat slope, the final stretch of the Variante Orso Bruno slope, and the upstream stretch of the Panciana slope. The area will also be equipped with a programmed snowmaking system.

Another new feature is the new structure in Folgarida, which includes new spaces for catering, commercial spaces (storage and rental), service areas, and a beauty area. In particular, the new restaurant has a large glass volume, with a view of the Brenta Dolomites. It houses the bar and restaurant, and a large panoramic terrace is partially covered outside. In the mezzanine, a gourmet restaurant room will be created with a dedicated kitchen area. All spaces are accessible "skis on".

From an architectural point of view, great attention was paid to the choice of materials (wood, stone, and glass predominate) to create a building with a contemporary style that is well inserted into the area's landscape and environmental context.

PAGANELLA

The widening of Olympic Track 2 will allow it to host international competitions again, and the widening of Cacciatori Track 2 will facilitate the descent towards Pian Dosson. The Teresat facility will be made pedestrian-friendly, and pedestrians will, therefore, be able to take the facilities up to Baita Lovara.

TONALE PRESENA

The Parad-ice Music Festival on the Presena Glacier has been confirmed for the new winter season. A giant igloo will be built to host concerts, and artists and the Paradice Band will perform on ice instruments.

SNOWPARKS AND NORDIC SKIING: 17 CENTRES OF EXCELLENCE WITH A SINGLE CARD

Trentino is always very popular with snowboarders and freestylers. Those who want to challenge themselves at every level with half pipes, rails, boxes, kickers, jumps, and boardercross will feel right at home in Trentino. There are 21 snow parks available, all excellently equipped and served by facilities, with slopes suitable for every level and where contests up to the FIS World Cup are organized.

The SuperNordicSkipass circuit brings together 17 cross-country ski centres for approximately 1,100 kilometres of slopes available between Trentino, Veneto and the Modena Apennines. There are ten participating Trentino cross-country ski centres spread across various tourist areas: Lago di Tesero, Passo S. Pellegrino-Alochet, Marcialonga, Passo Cereda, Imer, Passo Campo Carlo Magno, Vermiglio, Passo Coe, Millegrobbe-Passo Vezzena and Viote-Monte Bondone.

A card that allows access to all these facilities and to use their services can be purchased in these locations. To know the status of the slopes in real-time, there is the website www.supernordicskipass.it or the dedicated app, where you can view the status of the tracks, gather information on the temperature and humidity of the air and snow, and view live images from webcams.

FLY SKI SHUTTLE SERVICE

From December 2024 to the end of the season, on Saturdays and Sundays, thanks to the FlySki Shuttle service, the main ski resorts in Trentino will be connected via direct transfers with the airports of Verona, Bergamo Orio al Serio, Milan-Linate, Milan-Malpensa, Venice, Treviso, Bolzano and with the FS stations of Venice-Mestre, Milan Central and Trento. The connected resorts are Val di Sole, Val di Fassa, Val di Fiemme, San Martino di Castrozza - Passo Rolle - Primiero and Vanoi, Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo. Info: www.flyskishuttle.com/it/
