Monclassico
The town is located next to the Monclassico plain, facing the Brenta Dolomites. Monclassico, with its massive rustic-noble homes built in the Val di Sole tradition, marks the last fruit-growing outpost in the region, as this form of agriculture achieves noticeable results up until here. The town boasts several types of tourist accommodation and entertainment structures.
In the town centre, an ancient home, recently restored, overlooks the main piazza and its fountain, displaying a large fresco dated 1511. The 19th century Church of San Vigilio instead - with its three altars and late Gothic sculptures - is located on the hill. Tourists are also invited to visit the small church dedicated to the Vergin of Loreto (1600) in Presson.
One of the most beautiful "stue" of the Trentino - dating back to the 17th century - hails from Monclassico. Today, it can be admired at the Tiroler Volkskunstmuseum of Innsbruck.
