Carnevale dei Matòci, celebrations and traditions for artistic handcraft

Featuring 538 inhabitants in ten little villages perched on the South-Western end of Val di Fiemme, Valfloriana is located on the orographic left bank of stream Avisio.
The municipality is known for the evocative Carnevale dei Matòci carnival, which is celebrated every year with its traditional wooden masks called "facère". On this occasion the ancient local traditions bloom back to life for the whole day.
Located near the prestigious ski stations of di Fiemme and Fssa area, Valfloriana is an excellent starting point for winter sport lovers.
