Ragoli

Standing on the left bank of the Sarca river, at the feet of Mount Irone (1864 m a.s.l.), Ragoli enjoys a particulary mild weather. Located at the entrance of val D´Algone valley, base for a 19th century glass factory of the Giudicarie, is one of the gateways to the Adamello Brenta Nature Reserve.
Near Ragoli is the San Vili pathway, the historical route leading from Trento to Spiazzo in Rendena.
In the past, Ragoli used to be famous for its black marble quarries, from where came the material to build churches and bell-towers - such as the local Church of San Faustino. The Baschenis' paintingsin the cemetery chapel and the classical wrought-iron gratings are worth mentioning. The villages of Irone and Cerana, now deserted, have remained unchanged in their original urban lay-out and architectural outline. Ragoli, just as Montagne and Preore, also hosts Spinale and Manez Regulation, a millenary civic institution that administers the area for social purposes.
