What is the Festival dello Sport di Trento?
It is a full immersion experience in the world of sports. From football to athletics, from basketball to formula one, from volleyball to fencing. A look at sport from a range of perspectives, thanks to a packed calendar of events, hosted in theatres, courtyards and historical palazzos, museums and piazzas.
Some of the most interesting events are the talks: conversations between sports stars and journalists in which the champions tell their stories, revealing anecdotes and behind-the-scenes snippets from their victories in an informal context. If you are lucky, you might also be able to get an autograph or a photo with your idol.
The events are free, with a limited number of seats.
For kids, there are sports camps set up in Trento's main piazzas. Over the years, many different sports have been featured: athletics, basketball, volleyball, climbing. Young people can try their hand at these sports with the help of professionals, who are ready to offer advice.
Then there are exhibitions on the theme of sport: from an exhibition on the famous Panini stickers to one on Aldo Drudi, the designer who has been creating helmets for the most famous motorcyclists, including the legendary Valentino Rossi, for over forty years. From the exhibition on the swimmer Federica Pellegrini to the one dedicated to the great Michael Schumacher, with helmets, suits, trophy and two Formula one cars on display!
