The Canopa delle Acque represents an extremely valuable attraction for Argentario, for our territory and for Valsugana: it is a perfectly preserved medieval mine that was dug by hand almost 1000 years ago.
The area where this mine is located (the Argentario) takes its name from the silver deposits cultivated in the Middle Ages by the Canopi, miners of Germanic origin who extracted the precious metal on behalf of the Prince-Bishop. It was precisely in this area that silver was used at that time to mint the coin of Trento.
It is possible to make a real speleological visit, with helmets and torches, to discover the underground world of canopies. A leap into history accompanied by a certified guide in complete safety.
