Soraga
In Ladin "sorega" - from the Latin expression "super aqua" - clearly specifies the position of the town next to the Avisio stream. Located on the hillside of the Valaccia and overlooked by the Catinaccio group together and the Roda di Vael, Soraga is a true art workshop, where sculptors and carvers shape in everlasting wood all the emotions collected on the Dolomites.
Devoted to peace and relax, this traditional Fassa-style centre offers its increasing number of admirers the chance to experience pleasent walks to discover handcraft shops, tiny rural hamlets, as well as exciting mountain-bike tours along the bike-paths connecting Moena to Canazei, and also a well-equipped playground where kid can wildly and safely romp.
In the winter, the Marcialonga track is the cross-country skiers' favourite, while it takes just a few minutes on the ski bus for ski-mountaneering lovers to reach the nearby ski areas of the Dolomites Superski, the largest ski circuit of the Alps.
Soraga is considered to be one of the oldest urban settlements of Val di Fassa, a town which has managed a non-stop growth, expanding and upgrading yet cherishing its Ladin soul.
